The Hampshire based squad will have the latest specification MK8 1.0litre EcoBoost Ford Fiesta R2T example available to test at the Curborough Circuit near Lichfield, Staffordshire and will also have the earlier generation Fiesta’s (R2 & R2T) on hand for use during the session.
The open day has been devised for any competitors wishing to sample the ultra-successful range from M-Sport Ford, or for those wishing to get a taste for the all-new 2019 Fiesta for the very first time.
The customer-focused day should also appeal to those who are considering the 2020 Junior British Rally Championship (BRC) as the series shifts to a single-make Fiesta format next season, the winner of which will scoop an impressive 60,000 Euros towards a 2021 campaign in the FIA Junior World Rally Championship courtesy of M-Sport and Pirelli. The older specification R2T is also primed to be a front-runner in the newly announced BRC Academy.
Along with support from M-Sport Poland, Championship Manager Iain Campbell will also be on hand during the day to talk through the changes to the series.
EDSL Sport has grown from strength to strength since its inception in 2018 and thanks to dynamic growth the firm was appointed as official M-Sport re-sellers in the UK and Ireland for Fiesta parts, accessories and technical support. The Hampshire firm was also the first and only UK team to take delivery of the new Fiesta R2T in the UK, fielding two cars in the Junior British Championship during 2019. They were also instrumental in helping Rupert Flynn secure the Cadet Cup title in an older Fiesta R2 which will see the young driver net free entries into the 2020 JBRC.

“We are looking forward to welcoming a wide range of prospective competitors and crews to the day which will enable them to get a feel and experience of the M-Sport Fiesta range first-hand on the circuit,” says Team Principal Alex Waterman.
“Our taster day in 2018 proved to be very successful and offered the chance for drivers and co-drivers to sample the Fiesta. We understand how hard it can be to make informed decisions about car choice without having the opportunity to drive one in anger so we hope the day will help that process.
We will of course, showcase the new Fiesta for prospective Junior BRC contenders and interested drivers but have the older specification cars on hand for those interested in say the BTRDA or National Asphalt Rally Championships. The whole team will be on hand to offer expert advice and guide you through the options, as well as being able to discuss hire or buy schemes that we have in place. It will be great to have Iain [Campbell] there too as I`m sure many prospective contenders in the Junior BRC will have plenty of questions about the series.”
